At New England Disposal Technologies, we’re proud to work with individuals, businesses big and small, and local and state-wide governments to deal with hazardous waste. For us, every day really is Earth Day as we work to reduce our environmental impact and promote better understanding to companies and households alike about the hazardous waste they generate. In celebration of Earth Day 2022, we’d like to tell you more about what we do to help the Earth and what you can do too!
How NEDT Cleans Up Hazardous Waste
NEDT was founded in 1995 to make it easier for municipalities and businesses to deal with their hazardous waste, including cleaning and disposal. Our combination of technical skill and customer services is something we later extended to residential customers as well!
NEDT At Home: Our Collection Centers
Our Household Hazardous Products Collection Centers are designed to help get hazardous waste out of homes, including both at one of our centers or with a pick up! We also work to provide education about these common products with our fact sheets and blogs. And don’t forget about our BOH services!
NEDT At Work: Hazardous Waste Remediation & Disposal
On the industrial side of our work, we help companies keep hazardous waste from impacting their business, employees, and the environment, with everything from tank cleaning and remediation to hazardous waste disposal.
NEDT On the Road: Emergency Spill Cleanup
We’re also on standby in MA to help with emergency oil or chemical spills! Our 24/7 response times and wide selection of equipment mean we’re always ready to deal with spills on the road with tanker accidents or at facilities.
Earth Day 2022: How You Can Help with Hazardous Waste
We hope this Earth Day, you’ll take some time to appreciate all the natural beauty that New England has to offer, on anything from a hike to planting trees at a local community event. If you want to treat every day like it’s Earth Day, a great place to start is with better care of hazardous household products.
- Read the Labels: Make sure to read the labels of your household products for warnings, proper handling, storage, and disposal options. Read them at the store to make better-informed purchasing decisions.
- Proper Disposal: Do your research before pouring a product down the drain or throwing it in the garbage. Also, make sure to avoid runoff outdoors with chemicals, including fertilizers and cleaning compounds.
- Don’t Store Hazardous Waste: If you’ve got products that you can’t easily dispose of, don’t hold on to them! Check for a local event from your Board of Health, Google nearby disposal facilities, or come to us!
NEDT is proud to be here for another Earth Day! We hope you have a great day, and feel free to stop in – we’re open! Learn what we accept at our collection centers and plan your trip today!
