Old products, obsolete electronics, and empty containers you can’t throw in the trash have a tendency to pile up in any household, especially when attics, basements, and garages make for plenty of “out of sight, out of mind” storage. However, with the hazards posed by these dangerous products, it’s important to know when to store and when to find a facility to dispose of your household hazardous waste. Here are the signs it’s time to act.
No Place to Store Hazardous Waste
From the smallest apartment to the largest house, we’ll all run out of space to store all those things we’re holding onto – including those we keep because we can’t throw them away. Bulky electronics, CTR monitors and TVs, buckets of old paint – these can take up a ton of useless space. At least those extra holiday decorations might be useful someday – but not these products.
If you’ve accumulated a carload of hazardous waste, it’s probably time to make a trip to a collection center! If your local Board of Health is hosting a community event, that’s a perfect time. If not, think about asking them to or make a trip to one of our MA collection centers.
